One of my favorite ways to change up a room is to bring in a new bold piece of furniture, and the easiest way to do that is to give life to an old piece.
I scored this end table at a consignment store a while back that was originally priced $90, and I went bold by asking to drop it down to $30 and was so happy to hear the salesperson said “sure”! Typically I’d never undercut a marked price by that much, but I actually knew that store marks down its pieces by 50% quite frequently, so I did that and then did a typical barter price.
The color I chose was Grasshopper by Sherwin Williams. SW is my go to paint for any furniture redo, it’s the highest quality paint that is extremely durable without even needing a protective coat of polyurethane
I updated the hardware with a layer of gold metallic spray paint too.
This piece is really outside my traditional pieces I’d pick to redo, and especially choosing such a bold color. We don’t have anything like this beautiful and colorful piece of furniture in our home. I would be tempted to keep it for ourselves, but just doesn’t have the perfect home in any room here. I’ll be listing this piece on Craigslist and hoping it finds a new happy home!

Score! I LOVE the color and it looks high-end! Fabulous job.

Following you now! (Btw, I grew up in a military family so I have loads of respect...and even awe...for military mommas who do it all solo for months at a time.)
